A360 New Release

A360 Release: Enhanced Commenting and Markup tools

Enhanced commenting experience: in-canvas comments

A360 now enables you to overlay comments right on top of the design in the viewer so you don’t have to expand the comments panel and navigate through the comments stream in order to read or reply to a specific comment. Users can view and respond back to comments right from the viewer.

Comments are represented by blue markers on the canvas, these markers are attached to where the point or object comments are made on the design or drawing. Hover over a blue marker to quickly read the comment or click to reply.

You can add a text comment or attach a screenshot to a text comment from within the Comments panel. We capture a snapshot of the viewer by default but it can be deleted if the user does not wish to attach a snapshot with that comment. Users can show/hide the blue markers on canvas.

More markup tools

We’ve added new shape tools include polyline and polycloud, and introduced cut-copy-paste, redo-undo, delete functions and a more extensive color palette for line color in the markup toolbar.

We will add line support in next release. Till we add support for line, you can use Polygon markup tool for creating a line. Choose Polygon tool in markup edit mode. Click at the position you want to start line and double click at the ending position. You can see a line created.

Regarding PDF markup, this is very much requested feature from the community. We are progressing towards a robust solution for this problem.

I agree with Brian, a straight line markup tool is still required.
Also, I don’t like the transparency applied to the markers, they get a bit lost on the model. I’d like to see a solid blue colour on the markers.

Thanks for the feedback. I added a note about transparency and we will come back with a solution for it.
Transparency was used to differentiate selected comment and regular comment. We will revisit that experience.

Is it possible to download all the mark-ups and comments for use in our company QA audit trail? Or are they only accessible in the cloud?

I am also getting that question a lot. My company would like to see a summary of all comments for project record. Is this currently possible?

Or is it possible to summarize comments by user? I’ve had viewers mention that sometimes it is hard for them to find comments they made weeks ago. A summary tool would be great so each user can find their previous comments easier. I know we have the notifications and email tools, though a simple summary page would help.

      Thanks!

        Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. Currently it is not possible to download/export or search through the comments stream for a design or a project. We will add this to the product backlog for future consideration.

        Thanks,
        Rahul.
