Managing multiple projects, huge amounts of data, keeping the data synced and up to date at all times, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and dealing with curve balls thrown at you on a daily basis. Phew…life as a CAD professional has become more and more complex over the last few years. If you’re using A360, you already know that these are exactly the issues that we’re tackling as we believe there’s a true opportunity to leverage the latest technologies in creating tools that would make the CAD professional’s life a lot easier.
We believe that in order to really address these issues, you have to get instant access to your data anywhere and at any time. With the combination of web and mobile technologies, this is no longer something you need to dream about. It’s available today, right here, right now and this is how it works:
Assuming you already have an A360 account (go ahead and create one for free if you haven’t), the first step would be getting your data onto A360. A360 is built as a cloud based solution to enable seamless access to the data from all platforms. Placing your data in A360 can be done either via the web or mobile. Usually you would be uploading your data from your computer to A360 using the web interface which provides you a way to choose whether your data is composite (contains references to other files you would like to attach) or is just a collection of individual files.

Once the data is in A360, it can be easily accessed not only through the web but also from any iOS or Android mobile device using the A360 mobile app. In addition to viewing the design, you are also be able to view object properties, search the model, and add markups and more. With just a few quick steps you’ve just placed all your design data in your pocket.

With your files now on A360, sharing your design data is only a click away. A360 provides new ways to easily communicate inside your team or project, get everyone aligned on the most up to date data, and simply convey ideas and feedback. You can share either a single file through a link or share the entire project with other members of the team. By clicking the invite button you can quickly add additional members to the project.

Each project member added would get an email notification and would have access to the file through any web browser or mobile device. No CAD software installed, no CAD expertise is required, how easy is that!
Working both Online & Offline
There are cases where you might find yourself in a site or other location where Wifi or cellular network is unavailable. In order to make sure you won’t have to revert to the paper plans and drag those with you again, A360 mobile supports access to the data both online and offline. All you need to do is open the designs on your mobile device while a network is still available and that’s it, the designs are now cached on the device and available with or without a network connection.
The last tip for today is around project activities. One of the biggest challenges in running multiple projects simultaneously is the ability to keep track of all that’s going on with each one of your projects. A360 was build in order to make your life easier with a live projects feed that displays all the activities from all your projects. With the combination of web and mobile A360, the project members can post updates, statuses and reviews from either in or out of the office and all members can track these activities easily with A360’s activity stream on both web and mobile.
